ay 01: Delhi – Leh (B/D)

Transfer to Domestic for flight to Leh the capital of Ladakh spectacular mountain flight over Great Himalaya and one can see Karakoram mountains to the capital of Ladakh.On arrival at Leh airport meet and assist and transfer to hotel,today free to acculmatize the Leh altitude which is 3550 meters. Afternoon visit Leh Bazaar and enjoy this peaceful mountain surroundings and locals moving at slow pace and village women selling local farming produce. Dinner and night stay at hotel.Day 02: Leh Sightseeing  (B/D)Morning after breakfast visit Leh Palace which is is worth visit over looking Leh town and later visit Shanker Gompa,it is a monastery of yellow sect of Buddhism,it houses the image of Chanaric and various tankas,also visit Shanti stupa built by Japanees Monks  symbol of peace  and Leh bazaar for wonderful pictures . Dinner Overnight at Hotel.Day 03: Shey – Thiksey – Hemis Monasteries. (B/D)

After breakfast leave for Shey, Thiksey and Hemis Monasteries. Shey is 15 kms from Leh is set up on a hill, the monastery has two story statue of the sitting Buddha wrought of copper and gold that leaves the sense breathless. Thiksey enroute to Hemis Gompa provides a panoramic view of the green Indus valley. Thiksey houses beautiful tankas, there are 60 resident lamas. Later visit Hemis the Ladakh biggest monastery the Gompa contains quite a few gold statues and stupas decorated with precious stones. It has a super collections of tankas including the one which is supposed to be the largest tanka in existence and is exhibited once in every 11 years, alsoVisit Ladakhi family .Returm back to Leh for Dinner and overnight stay in Hotel.

Today after sufficient acclimatization, be prepared for a spectacular journey Khardungla Pass(6208 mts) the highest motorable pass in the World, to the valley of Nubra in the Far North by the Tibetan border. The view from the top of the pass is amazing. One can see all the way South over the Indus Valley to the seemingly peaks and ridges of Zanaskar range. Nubra was once a busy stop on the Caravan route used by Ancient traders for Silk, tea and Spices. The valley is predominately Buddhist. . This was a busy centre in old times, the last major settlement before the caravans plunged in to the mountains of Karakoram into Central Asia. visit to the 150 yrs old Samtangling Gompa at Sumur, a large complex with 7 temples and was inaugurated by the Dalai Lama in year 1962, the prayer rooms that are open to the public houses an impressive collection of Thankas and excellently restored frescoes.Also enjoy the Double Hump Camel ride(Bacterian Camel) in the High altitude deserts Afternoon return to beautiful Deluxe camp dinner and overnight stay.Day 05: Nubra Valley – Leh (B/D)After breakfast at camp,Visit The main village which is Deskit which has a regular bazaar and Gompa. From Deskit the town proceeds down the Shayok to small village of Hunder (3,048 mts). Afternoon return back to Leh over Khardungla pass the spectacular scenery once again. On arrival check in hotel later you may want to visit Tibetan market and the Leh bazaar for last minute souvenirs.Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel.Day 06: Leh – Pangong lake .  (B/D)After early breakfast depart at 6. am for Pongong Lake 140 kms one way, situated at 4267m through Changla Pass 5490 meters above sea level enjoy the beautiful panoramic View of the villages below the pass,after crossing the pass halt for picnic lunch at Tsoltak,the summer pastureland of the YAKS,Arrive DURBUK and from there a short drive takes you to the western shore of the lake.Enjoy the land scape in the back drop of the lake. A long narrow basin of inland drainage, hardly six to seven kilometer at its widest point and over 130km long, it is bisected by the international border between India and China. The first view of the lake is breath taking because of striking colors of its water especially towards evening when it is deep blue. Return to Leh afternoon and enjoy some shopping in the bazaar for Tibetian artifacts at Tibetian Market.Over night and dinner at hotel.Day 07: Leh – Delhi (B)After breakfast transfer to Leh airport for a spectacular mountain flight to Delhi onward journey.
